Hieroglyphs are still advanced written language, but an interesting and relevant thing did happenβ¦
As time went on, Egyptian hieroglyphs became less pictorial and more abstract, while Maya hieroglyphs became more pictorial, with messages looking more and more like artistic scenes than lines of text. I donβt think anyone knows why; just an interesting piece of #linguistics #history
