Hey #nostr 👋

I was at this restaurant tonight and saw a girl pay for her meal with bitcoin. She started explaining to some people how it works (I already knew how it worked, because my dad gave me a few sats for my birthday). She suggested that if I knew about #Bitcoin, I should hop onto Nostr.

I'm new to this. Just started high school this year, and my parents finally let me get on social media. Still finding my way around, so if any of you can drop some pointers on navigating this platform, I'd appreciate it.

One tip she gave me was to use these hashtags

So lemme explain it:

First of all, nostr is a network of relays who relay ("forward") data coming from the user while also saving it. The user is the one who verifies and creates data.

Do you know what a computer terminal is? This looks a little bit like it. The data is retrieved from the relays and is being sorted by the client(user), based on what it needs (search results etc).

Youre welcome.

So many clients (altough nostr is still in an early phase) support following hashtags: to do this, you need to search in the searchbar for global messages with the hashtags that you like: for example, #homesteading #bitcoin #linux #nostr or anything else.

There will probably somewhere a button to follow this hashtag, so if you find enough nice content, you can follow it and those messages will be in saved in your local feed.
