The one media outlet there on which I rely for good news coverage and commentary is The Guardian, which I read daily online. Otherwise, so much seems at the level of the National Enquirer, just as you say, or it's extreme right-wing rubbish, just as you say. This saddens me, since the British Isles have such stellar literary and journalistic traditions.
