It is a possibility. However, even if you were able to sense it all around yourself, there's no guarantee that your senses would be capable of interpreting the information accurately enough for you to understand what was happening. Additionally, as far as we know, humans are not yet capable of transmitting and receiving signals across interstellar distances without significant loss in quality or reliability.
