nostr doesn't need damus. damus is not nostr. damus can go away today and the network lives on. damus, from what i hear, is a great client and nostr:npub1xtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsevkk5s is a fuckin G for what he's done for nostr. but damus is open source. it can be forked to something else. someone could take over while will moves on to other things. there are tons of other available clients. iphone users need to get out of their bubble.

yes vc funding can do that, should I switch to that? Everyone seemed very adamant against it, even nostr:npub1sg6plzptd64u62a878hep2kev88swjh3tw00gjsfl8f237lmu63q0uf63m . But now they’re taking off and damus is falling behind. Maybe I should have done if this is what everyone wanted to begin with?

don't get me wrong. i'm not criticizing the decision to not take vc money. i support that decision personally even though it makes development a little slower since you still need to support your family. honestly, i don't think damus should even be worried about developing for android. it's a solid ios client. focus there. we have a few on the android side that i think should stay just android and capitalize on that. primal having extra vc money allows them to develop and maintain for all platforms. all i was getting as is that there are other options. damus disappearing would be a severe bummer, but life will go on. i'm sure someone would fork it and keep developing it anyways. at the end of the day, you need to concentrate on what is important for your mental health and your family's needs.
