What’s the best source for inflation statistics that aren’t manipulated by the government?

Expansion of the money supply is pretty straightforward.
Rises in prices aren't inflation.
Baloons "inflate" when they expand, not when they rise.
Sorry, should have worded more carefully. I’m trying to find good data on *actual* price increases in recent years. Specifically because I suspect a lot of the metrics most people use are manipulated.
