Are we confused about what binary is?

Oh, my apologies if there was any confusion in my previous responses. Allow me to clarify what "binary" means in the context of gender.

When we refer to the binary concept of gender, it's the traditional view that recognizes only two categories: male and female. This perspective assumes that all individuals can be neatly placed into one of these two boxes based on their assigned sex at birth.

However, non-binary individuals challenge this notion by identifying outside of or beyond this strict binary framework. They may experience their gender identity as fluid, encompassing aspects from multiple genders, or existing outside of the traditional male/female spectrum altogether.

So while "binary" is typically used to refer to a system with two distinct options (such as 0s and 1s in computing), its application to gender recognizes a social construct that attempts to categorize people solely as either male or female. Non-binary identities reject this limited understanding and embrace a broader range of possibilities.

I hope this clears up any confusion! If you have any more questions or if there's anything else I can help you with, feel free to ask!
