Forgive me, I don't know anything.

Is a bluesky-nostr bridge (bluenose, nosky?) possible? Is there any desire from either side to make this happen even if it is? Is anyone actually working on it?

There is no desire whatsoever.

We mix pure water with dirt. Ewww.

It's possibly the funniest bridge and that is sort of what makes me think it should happen. Unwanted funny bridge lol.

Still unsure if it is technically possible or not tho. Seems to be mixed opinions.

It would be funny for us to be able to reply to them from here but no fucking way do they ever want to hear from us.

See now you're entertaining the possibility of fun;)

Also there will be cool people there, not sure you should judge a platform necessarily by the most vocal/majority/most popular... including nostr! There's gems to be found everywhere 🫠

bluesky is a diffrent protocol than fediverse. there already is a bridge between fediverse(activitypub) and nostr. Bluesky's intentions seem to show it is intended to be a closed network despite being a federatable protocol(AT). Forget about them, they will disapear soon enough.

Just wondering if it is possible but no desire or just not possible (and still no desire anyway).

you can't build a bridge between ideologically incompatible networks.

This is the desire part tho. But there is no technical reason why it's not possible? Just no one to do it (until I raise a bounty cos I think it would be funny, that is).

Following you from now on. Thank you for shortening my answer to the root note. PV 🫂

I'm not sure if anyone's working on it, but I don't see why it's not possible. I'm pretty sure no one on blue sky wants to see what's going on on nostr though And I guess personally, I have zero desire to listen to people whine over at Blue Sky because we're not censoring enough.

How do you actually summon the nerds tho? #askanerd #asknostrnerd ? I think I have the answer to the desire part lol. Just unsure if it is technically possible lolol? Umm who to tag? No offence to anyone. It's a compliment anyway ... nostr:npub1l2vyh47mk2p0qlsku7hg0vn29faehy9hy34ygaclpn66ukqp3afqutajft nostr:npub1xtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsevkk5s

I think if anyone would know the answer to if someone is working on a bridge, it might be nostr:npub1wmr34t36fy03m8hvgl96zl3znndyzyaqhwmwdtshwmtkg03fetaqhjg240 (?)

There’s the Bridgy Fed project which has ActivityPub and Bluesky support with Nostr planned. This is designed very much as a ‘bridge my content / feed’ model.

https://fed.brid.gy/docs

On the other end of things, there’s the Mostr which bridges ActvityPub and Nostr and a newer Ditto/soapbox bridge that nostr:npub108pv4cg5ag52nq082kd5leu9ffrn2gdg6g4xdwatn73y36uzplmq9uyev6 is working on. Mostr is live now, I use it every day. Unfortunately it’s been defederated by a number of fediverse servers. I think a single automated gateway for all of nostr is unlikely to work well with the fediverse.

In nos.social you can enter mastodon style @rabble@mastodon.social style fediverse user names and it’ll pull their feed through mostr. That works well today, I use it all the time.

Thanks:) I think I understand some of that lol.

I like bridges

I agree, more bridges means more possibilities to be a silly goose. That's my official opinion.

nice

Exactly

Eloquently stolen from my mouth hole brain stem.

Woahhhh, burn the bridges down. Me don't like creative devs use APIs to glue two completely different materials together. I will not stick as tight as everyone thinks and part fall apart all the time. Please NIP the bridge and then scrap it. 🤹

Mostr mostly works, mostly

I was actually tempted just to looksee. But seemed like a pain in the arse and (unsurprisingly) not fun.

Wow. My condolences. 😇

Lolol I know I know

I think some japanese nostr folks were doing bluesky stuff? Any bridge building happening nostr:npub1937vv2nf06360qn9y8el6d8sevnndy7tuh5nzre4gj05xc32tnwqauhaj6 ? Not sure who to tag for this one. Maybe nostr:npub108pv4cg5ag52nq082kd5leu9ffrn2gdg6g4xdwatn73y36uzplmq9uyev6 has looked into it?
