Mostly, I go to YouTube to find albums of music. I wish someone would copy all that music and put it on another platform. Has that happened yet?

Invidious instances, like Nadeko's instance, will certainly be the thing to do.

I've actually been known to send invidious links instead of YouTube links from time to time, and I should probably do that more.

I seem to remember a way to force my browser to open youtune links in an invidious instance... any idea?

For that, you simply install LibRedirect (a browser extension) on your browser. Using Firefox-based browsers, this is something I will obviously recommend. Set the instance (I use inv.nadeko.net), and you'll watch YT videos ad-free.
