⚡️🇹🇷 NEWS - Turkey: police burn 20 tons of cannabis in the middle of the city, residents suffer hallucinations for days

By burning the equivalent of 20 tonnes of marijuana worth 228 million euros, the Turkish police intended to send a message to drug traffickers. But the operation turned into a fiasco.

As the plume of smoke rose into the sky just a few dozen metres from the homes, local residents and police quickly inhaled the smoke, before experiencing dizziness and nausea.

Worse still, many of the town's 25,000 residents complained of intoxication and hallucinations. "We couldn't open our windows for days. Our children have fallen ill and we're constantly going back and forth to the hospital", lamented one of the townspeople. As a result, the town's residents have been asked to close their windows and limit the time they spend outside their homes for several days.
