They don’t realize that they are being robbed of their freedom.

I read spanish press daily and see no references or complaints about it

That tells you more about Spanish press than the privacy in Europe. Just to mention one, Politico Europe has a section dedicated to technology and one dedicated to cybersecurity and data protection with regular updates on privacy. It is a BIG topic in the EU.
