Well, this is going back to the 80s when I went deep into Edmund Bordeaux Szekely and his writings which were claimed to be based on texts and teachings from the Essene tradition. I could recommend to read "The teachings of the Essenes from Enoch to the Dead Sea Scrolls" from Edmund to get an idea of what he was getting at. I'm sure scholars and more conservative christians might be quite suspicious of his writings but I did appreciate the more peace, love, exercise and health bias in his interpretation of early Christian practices.
