Sry if I seem dense here. This is all new to me. Have I done this right?
Use this file instead. It’s got a link to the correct video. Just rename it to whatever your other file was named and over write it in Bunny. https://lnbeats.b-cdn.net/cte/feed.xml
Discussion
yea that looks correct to me
Any idea how long it takes to update? I'm still seeing the static image not the vid. Also I updated mooky's name earlier today but it's still showing as m.o.o.k.y in podcastguru
Are you sure you saved the updated rss feed as the correct name and saved it over the old feed?
https://podcastindex.org/podcast/7151950
When I view the RSS feed here it's still showing .mov
I may have done it wrong... instead of saving over i edited the details in the feed from sovereignfeeds.com to point to the new file.

You can update the information on SF, but you still need to save the new version over this guy: https://circletheearth.b-cdn.net/Circle%20the%20Earth%20Live%20-%2012-30-2024%2017.14.39.xml
Also updates should publish as soon as you send a podping, which you can do from SF. Podping is like a push notification to the Podcast Index that the feed has changed.
Ok so i just hit the podping thing. But where do I go to override the old feed with the new one?
Sorry I'm sure this is a really dumb question
What the fuck Im blocking you
hahaha it's all good. Do you recall where you uploaded the original feed at?
Uhhh.... so i used bunny.net for the files and then did some stuff on SV. I think that was it?! Unless I'm forgetting something major
I haven't set up with bunny so Im not entirely sure what it looks like, maybe there's like a search feature where your files are stored? Look for "2017.14.39.xml"

Ok so i deleted the old .xml file out of here. Downloaded the new one, and renamed it the old name... is that right? I'm confused... I thought this file was just a backup tho.
It should’ve been. Normally people keep a back up, then copy it ave rename it feed.xml, then whenever they create a new feed the just replace that feed.xml file
Do me a favor and create a copy of that one and call it feed.xml. Don’t delete that one, just make a copy
Done
When you say "replace that feed" where is the actual xml stored that's being referenced? If the file in bunny.net is the backup, where's the actual feed file?
That one that is on Bunny is the feed. The apps are looking for that file, which is why the name has to stay the same.
Ayyy it worked! https://podverse.fm/podcast/8R9b-3v0os I see video now
Here's a pro tip, I would only name your .xml (the rss feed) really easy things like "feed.xml". Then you can save it inside of a folder called "Circle the Earth Live". That way you don't have to nail that long complicated name every time you need to update
THANKS!
*Hank Hill Noises* this looks and sounds pro AF awesome stuff
YAY!!! and this is the beauty of self-hosting. You can break shit but also fix shit fast.
While you're here Budtender....have you ever wanted to be a cartoon MC before?

Cartoon MC?

We're always looking for MC's in additions to bands for the Skirmish. MC's get the cartoon treatment and we make up animated puppets for participants.
Haha that sounds amazing! This is live though right?
Unfortunately 12th is my son's birthday and we'll be traveling.
I'm down for the next one though for sure.
Do you have recordings of the previous skirmishes?
We meant the next one lol. It would be cool to have you on nostr:npub18gp8p84hjmjh9zejdlyqqcg22sj6x3qra0q2ng4v6cxxg95sav8q0mcg5e's podcast Behind the Sch3m3s to talk shop and brainstorm more cool shit.
Damn right we have recordings. Here's the first one we did. We're still trying to figure out how to better organize all of this but the best way to find them is to search "skirmish" in your favorite PC 2.0 app and just click around.
