Controversial take: Nostr needs grants to consolidate work, not to have its 100 devs keeep working on their slightly different 100 apps. How about rewarding contributions to projects that each developer did not launch himself?

Yes. Eventually it will. But it would not be efficient if the first 1000 devs would all start their own projects before any further devs would team up.

I'm talking about incentives to get more coding power behind some projects to get to excellence faster.

"app" is more generic. I'm working on a widget that you might have included 100 times on your website, so I wouldn't call that a "client".
