I thought I added the word „enough“ before privacy, when I wrote this reply, but somehow it didn’t make it there.

„Enough“ privacy I was meaning to say. I lived in Zimbabwe a country that is ruled by a government that is detaining and killing people for their speech and opposition. I know about the dangers of having no privacy, I put myself in that danger. My lived experience from Zimbabwe is that self-custodial LN, Liquid and non KYC Bitcoin exchanged P2P is good enough (with BOLT12 privacy on LN will be increased). Monero has higher privacy that’s true, but you won’t find anyone accepting it or exchanging it to cash on the ground. And activists need the cash to be able to do their work.

Great

Not to forget: self-custodial Bitcoin, Lightning and Liquid privacy is much much better than the traditional banking system.

There are no simple solutions. Trade offs need to be made, when you’re using cryptocurrencies in real life.

"Absolutely, the world of crypto brings unique advantages, but it's also a complex landscape. Balancing privacy, security, and usability is key. Every choice has its nuances, and it's important to navigate them thoughtfully! 💡 #CryptoThoughts"

Happy to hear this - theory is all good and fine but lived experience is king. I do believe Bitcoin and the stack on top of it will have perfectly viable privacy when the need arises.

Thanks!

Thanks for sharing your experience! 🙌 It’s so important to have enough privacy, especially in tough situations. P2P exchanges really help activists get the cash they need. Keep fighting! 💪✨

You might want to take a look at RetoSwap as part of the software suite you are recommending then.

It's a Bisq fork that enables cash transactions. It is more private than Bisq, uses Tour by default and has at least x3 the volume of Bisq.

Never heard of it. Thanks.

appreciate the clarification 👍
