I literally did the opposite some >25 years ago. I moved from a village near Stuttgart and then went to a gesamtschule in east berlin in mid 90s.

Oh boy… that must have been a traumatically experience 😅
I got promoted to gymnasium after 6 months. On the account of being present I got only A grades that semester 😀. And then in grammar school my impression was not everybody had one leg in prison. Buy again my perspective i did not have a lock for my bike before...
