So my grandpa
He retired in his mid 40s
Had an ocean front beach house in Florida
His primary residence has like 17 bedrooms….
As a kid growing up I never really thought about any of this
But talking with him now as an adult
Trying to get advice
He’s old and can barely use a flip phone rn
So I wouldn’t even waste my time trying to talk to him about bitcoin, a little background then I’ll tell u something he told me.
So he had like 15 brothers and sisters
Grew up milking cows on the farm before daylight type shit
He didn’t have a toothbrush till he was like a teenager
Lot of land in the family
Hundreds of acres (if not a thousand)
He hitchhiked and walked putting himself through engineering school at the university of Alabama
He Got a kick ass job at NASA
He was making good money
But then quit one day out of the blue.
Said he was starting his own company
Something fabricators inc… idk
Working with steel and welding and stuff
So all his friends and family members laughed at him
Ridiculing him
Saying how it was a stupid idea and he would never be successful
Well he ended up hiring almost of these people that didn’t believe him… giving them all jobs
He didn’t look so stupid anymore
Anyways so he had this fabrication business and it was going good but. But he had to pay a ton for shipping and receiving
He ended up buying an 18 wheeler. Then another before you know it he was running a trucking company and this fabrication business
That was 2 companies he started
Then he had all this land passed down through the family
So he started strip mining coal on his own property
That turned into a business
Then he started getting more and more cattle and that turned into a business
So now he had like 4 companies at this point and wanted to build a house for his mother
My great grandmother
He was so good at the home building process that he started a construction company too
So he ended up with like 5 or 6 companies and then was able to retire in his mid 40s
So a few years ago I was talking with him about all this
And he was like yea back then
Back in his day it was a lot easier to do business, start a business, etc
You didn’t have all the regulations, and taxes, and bull shit
He was like shit nowadays you’re doing good working at Home Depot with a 600 pound lesbian boss.
Just a different era
Fiat ruined everything
