Primal is great for newbies and has a great UI, but it doesn’t work very well.

They also use private backend caching relays to attempt to make the experience more user friendly.

“Proper clients” often don’t look great but generally work better.

I use Primal on desktop, but switch to Damus on iPhone or Amethyst on Android when I need NOSTR to work.

Primal is fine, but makes trade offs on decentralization for UX. Also their DMs (supported by many clients) leak metadata, don't use them.
