Yeah it's really just shifting the problem of burning fuel onto the electric grid, which isn't getting rid of all of the emissions obviously. Factor in the slave labor needed to make lithium batteries by decimating Africa's land & resources and it's still fucked. We may actually be increasing said labor by having to mass produce even more batteries than we already do for the myriad of devices that have them. Which means even more habitat destruction and poisoning of the earth. This is one of the few anti car opinions I can get behind, electric cars are definitely not the answer if the end goal is to actually help the environment.
