One more quick note about [ProtonMail](https://pr.tn/ref/0FES9KF6HHD0) - a friend of mine doesn't use ProtonMail, but I imported his pgp key so all future messages between us will be end-to-end encrypted (E2EE). Sweet!

I use Proton Mail, Calendar, Pass, Drive, and VPN. Love it.

Gmail doesn't have this functionality built-in...wonder why that is?

Wait, does that mean that ProtonMail is custodying your PGP private key?

...yes, that's how they sign my outgoing emails...what would be the alternative for a web-based (and mobile-based) email client? Honest Q

I don't know. I don't used web-based email clients.

Well, I take that back. Sometimes I will use Tutanota in a disposable VM. But tutanota keys only exist client-side. Tutanota is a different model tho. It is not interoperable with PGP. If you want end-to-end encryption, both users must be using Tutanota, or you will have to share an assymetric key (password) out of band with a non-Tutanota user.

Sorry, I meant symmetric key

Yes🤣
