YouTube is literally the only Google/Apple/Microsoft service I still use today. It'd be nice to completely log off and just keep those accounts in the freezer forever more, or as spam boxes.

Other than that, the only other piece of spyware I just don't see how to get rid of is fucking WhatsApp, which really is a big one.

One that works well 😆

Yes plz 😂

as somebody that has used flare only once or twice, what were the biggest flaws with it?

really expected it to get the ball rolling

I tried uploading to it once and couldn’t get it to work. Might have been the payment for hosting that didn’t work but I don’t remember for sure. I don’t think Zach ever really did much more with it after he put it up, but I could be wrong there. I’ve seen others say it’s buggy too.

I haven’t seen him around at all. I assumed he left nostr just before or after grant ended.

That could be it 😅🤣 He hasn’t been active for a few months on his account

yeah. zack kind of abandoned flockstr as well

Same, couldn’t upload

We have flare.pub but also there needs to be easy blossom implementations to make it easier for users to host large files in a sovereign way.

Idk if blossom is the tech for that

I posted about how to take on YouTube a while ago, thought about making a dev bounty for it but couldn't find a good enough platform for posting dev bounties

Then we need more and easy NIP96 implementations.

Yeah, honestly huge world changing potential there

All the ones that exist are not straightforward at all to get set up.

It isnt until it supports standards like range requests and caching, access controls, and discovery

For real because flare was just buggy today
