Looks like it's hard to find accommodations for less than 200$/night in Amsterdam for the Bitcoin Conference... was planing to stay 4 nights but this getting expensive.

Would you stay in a hostel? There are some good ones in Amsterdam. Look for Stay Ok hostel. I stayed there when I was visiting the city in 2016,and it was a very nice experience.

no private room but clean + you do sleep closer to conference and city
how do you feel about airbnbs (own room in a house, shared public spaces)? 15m from city centre with public transport; 75$ per day
