Genuine question: what prevents someone from shutting down ocean itself as a service? nostr:note1yg55vzt4fxjadp567dj4ssf47y82nx6tkrsxgjhe2gnnd86dj2gqpp0xgq

they can move any jurisdiction easily - it not physical service

Couldn’t the FBI just issue takedown notices no matter where they are? Id think any web host would comply no matter the jurisdiction

Doesn’t have to be international either - as long as said hosting company does business in the states (very likely) at the threat of losing said business…

correct - its called american fencing - no nothing of value can transfer IN/OUT without the permission of office of comptroller via border. like border agent sitting on invisible Trump WALL in El Paso. LoL

every such service can violating WIRE FRAUD and DOJ will find TURKEY like CZ every year

Now that the mechanisms exist it can be replicated. And it will once all of the miners using pools start migrating to Ocean.

This is a paradigm shift in my opinion.

It’s open source?

Not as far as I can tell. But I believe miners will demand their TIDES reward scheme and will always want to use it if they can.

Purely from incentives I believe Ocean is going to suck up most of the hashrate and then other pools will evolve or die. Stratum V2 is just around the corner too which piles on to this being the new way forward.

Stratum V2 is definitely the future.

1 ocean is more decentralized than many current no-stratum pools.

There will be more stratum pools soon i bet.
