is #[0]β deboosted on twitter or something? He has 113,000 followers and his posts about nostr get less engagement than an average shitpost here

Interesting π³.. only few likes and a bunch of views
Most likely so Iβll retweet it and share. Can we get #nostr trending π
It's because all maniacs are already in nostr and twitter is a desert π
I have been a big fan of his since before I knew what twitter was. Now I follow him on nostr.
This is the new Twitter model that leverages the visibility filter. Instead of censorship they are using deboosting instead.
Remember when Musk said links to other social networks would be banned? Well they back tracked on that but they didn't fully allow them now either. Assume any links or discussions about Nostr to be deboosted and buried with the visibility filter.

Definitely noticed the damus account getting way less engagement.
You mentioned a few days ago wanting Nostr to become the place for content creators. I think things like this will make that happen. I see a lot of people on Twitter thinking their engagement is down, asking others if they see the same, then concluding thereβs something wrong with Twitter, either in general or for them personally.
Little by little people will lose trust in Twitter and want an alternative. Nostr with zaps is the obvious choice, especially for content creators.
This also applies to any content that is deemed a threat to Twitters business model.

Yeah I saw that. Not clear to me what exactly "specifically seek out" means. So it won't even appear if you're following the person? Do you have to search for it? If so what queries will show it in the result?
To me, that means you'd have to search for the term or click on the user's profile and look at their timeline.
Thank you for the β‘ !!!!
What does deboosting mean exactly? FWIW the video with #[3] is the first result if you search "nick gillespie nostr" although I couldn't find it with a less targeted search like "#damus".

I noticed been the only one watching live according to Twitter live counter π€·ββοΈ
I think it would also help if Reason publicly listed the full interview on YouTube. I had to find it through the excerpts in the descriptions.
