Fintech giant Stripe and crypto venture capital firm Paradigm have announced Tempo, a new layer-1 blockchain optimized for stablecoins and high-volume payments. Designed with input from OpenAI, Visa, and Shopify, Tempo aims to address the limitations of current blockchain infrastructure for global transactions.

Key features include over 100,000 TPS, enhanced privacy options, flexible fee payments using any stablecoin, and EVM compatibility. The project is currently in private testing and plans to transition to an open, permissionless network.
