Didn't know your were a freeCAD guy nostr:npub1q6ya7kz84rfnw6yjmg5kyttuplwpauv43a9ug3cajztx4g0v48eqhtt3sh...

And yes, freeCAD is a bit of a challenge, but I'm getting better at it (but certainly just scratching the surface so far). Like anything, the time invested to learn will give you a life-long skill, so will press on regardless...

And of course anything that runs on Linux is my preferred option (and free is always welcome). 😃

Yeah. I had to learn to design stuff for 3D printing. I detest all modern CAD packages that are used in industry. Cloud based stuff, especially.

So, that pretty much leaves FreeCAD.

Same here really--looked at pretty much everything. But after watching a few tutorials I could see #FreeCAD would be able to do everything I'd want out of a CAD package.

Perhaps not as elegant as a commercial alternative, but it'll get the job done.

Kind of like Excel vs. Libre...there are things in Excel I miss...but if I never knew about them, I would probably feel Libre is perfectly capable.
