Yes!! Do this! We did black swallowtail butterflies and it was so fun to watch the caterpillars munch on parsley then become butterflies! I was even able to get a video of one making (turning into ๐Ÿค”) a cocoon.

We currently have a caterpillar in a cocoon in a jar amongst my plants at home. You don't even need fancy equipment, just a hungry buddy from the yard.

That's where we found ours. There were a bunch of caterpillars so we bought the tent thing.

Pretty sure this is the third one we've done now. Maybe I should invest in the tent. Lol.

Lol, for just one at a time I don't know that it's worth it (I think we had 10-12), the one we had was big and tried to blow away ๐Ÿ˜‚. We put a couple of bricks or pieces of wood in the bottom.

He had a small one that he had gotten for Christmas when he was 3 but he definitely destroyed that before we used it. Lmao.

We just ordered one from Amazon, it was in 2018 and I have no idea what brand it was ๐Ÿ˜’.

I know there's a National Geographic one you can get most anywhere. I've seen it at Walgreens and at Target.

They literally sell ones that are a good size for individual ๐Ÿ› at the Dollar.25 Tree.

Oooo didn't think about looking there.

I have to do one of these with my kids as a homeschooling project.

It was so fun!

Dang swallowtails ate all my Dill. I decided it was a swallowtail garden.

Have you ever let them mlem you with their neon orange "tongue" thing?

Its hilarious and it smells like sweet Dill on your fingers after.

Yes, we did that ๐Ÿ˜‚
