I would add Mastodon logo there...

For an open platform, there is so much censorship on various levels (instance, between instances), it's like pure communism. Some instances even forbid "commercial self promotion" and they block instances (and thus all their users) that are too capitalistic.

And then bitcoinhackers instance rugpulled "my" identity.

The whatลพe? Even Mastodon is bad now?

this is the biggest argument against federation and for nostr. either you run your own instance or you risk being deplatformed... big overhead. nostr is way easier

True.

In Mastodon, 1 server (instance) owns your identity.

In Nostr, multiple servers (relays) owns your identity.

This alone makes it incredibly difficult for relays to coordinate and deplatform someone.

But that is exactly the community vibe they want. Each a little fiefdom of like minded people with unwritten and ambiguous policies about what is allowed. But, if you are friends with the admin at the time, it will be good for you. I'm glad they found a home!

Yeah, you're either boss yourself and can run your own node or you know people.

That's the communist vibe. Everyone's equal, but only if everyone's the same(*).

(*) no two people are the same ever.
