Welding is something to learn so it counts! The kind of 'welding' depends on the type of metal and connection you want. Lowest barrier to entry is soldering or brazing that can be done with fairly inexpensive torches. Soldering being the easiest. Soldering can be used to connect brass and copper (Good sculpture metals). To connect steel you need to braze or weld. These need little bit bigger setups. MIG is probably the easiest welding to do on steel and probably what most steel sculptures are made with. What are you thinking?

Yes, I agree. I think I'd start small with soldering and buy some copper sheets and see what I can do with them. After that, I might try to venture a bit further, depending on my talent. If you could show how to start, what to buy, I'd be very grateful. I think there are similar materials that are also named similarly in Germany.
I thought about what you want to do. I recommend a map gas torch. Bernzomatic is a good brand. Not sure if they are sold in Germany. You can definitely solder with it a possibility braze steel with it. I did a write up on my feed and tagged you. As far as materials any materials for soldering copper gutters or plumbing will work. Let me know if you have any questions. Look forward to seeing your work!
Thank you, yes we got Bernzomatic here. In the next few weeks, I'll get some soldering tools and make my first attempts. I promise to post them here, no matter how they will look like 🫣:) I think your tips, your site, and your channel are fantastic.
I can think of a million more things I want to ask, like, how can I build myself a large, very brutalist dining table that has X legs...
I got this interior designing vibe and want to learn how to build some everyday objects myself. I offen don't like the details of many things you can buy, the things would buy are mostly to expensive ..so I'd rather do it myself. 💪🏽
Don’t worry about what it looks like. You will have a learning curve.
Thank you for your feedback on the site and all. I am a one man band, so encouragement is appreciated and I want to be helpful and pass on what I have learned through life.
Questions are always appreciated…
They sometimes make good video ideas!
Cheers!
Soldering is basically ‘glueing’ with lead or lead free metal.
Brazing is ‘glueing’ with brass.
Welding is melting the metals together so they are uniform though out.
