That's insane. I once took a train ride over there that, iirc, was a full day long. Same journey, pretty sure. Rickety train with holes in the floor for 'bathrooms.'
One of those standing trains? Packed shoulder to shoulder for 12 hrs.
bulgarian trains are much better
usually you are stuck on a seat for long routes but the compatriots are generally very good natured and tolerant of many things including BO and dirty clothes... haha... BG is a good place to be a hobo, and you can literally travel anywhere with liek 15 euro
