I appreciate your article on the Fourth Turning. I am finding the process that changes our conditions quite fascinating (as in the etymological sense of being a charming little dick). Could that process which is responsible for the various individual and collective survival strategies be imperative, like gravity is imperative? It imperativeness does not ensure an outcome. The process produces variation, something else selects. So the process that produces variation is not the selector, individuals select and share in common the way their selection makes sense. The population that thrives with whatever sense making allows them to form a community is the population with which I want to belong. But why should I be any different.
