The Art section on Nostr is really bleak. The original paintings present, apart from my owns, I can count on the fingers of one hand. I am beginning to feel like a fish out of water.

You aren't the only one feeling this way, and art isn't the only thing missing.
Similar for music, there's some cool broadcasts on Zap Stream and obviously Wavlake/Fountain etc. but I mean just in terms of a community, it's not really here. I'm keeping plugging away, I like Nostr and think it's a long term win for the internet. I guess all I can say is keep on trucking sir.
