They did have a call and they told him how the App Store terms and conditions work, and based their decision on that.
nostr:npub1xtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsevkk5s, did anyone from Apple call you yet? I thought they wanted to understand how zap works and consider their decision based on that
Discussion
I thought they would reconsider based on lack of understanding
nope, I asked them to clarify specifically about note zaps. I said since nothing is being sold on a note, why would it be considered a digital sale if you tip a note. They said it’s just the way it is and that’s their policy and that’s the only thing I need to remove. Didn’t make sense at all.
Sounds like Apple just wanted flex just to flex
Are you asking them to reconsider in some manner?
Doesn’t make sense. We aren’t selling anything to term it as a “purchase”
Apple, 1984: We’re changing the way everything works
Apple, 2023: That’s our policy, we’re not changing anything
The app review team is a bunch of morons.
Would it be a violation of Apple’s policy to include a link back to the note where a profile zap was initiated when it appears in the user’s notifications?
Maybe having a separate metrics tab that shows which notes were the source of profile view/tip. I am not sure, but I think blue bird app has something like that. 🐶🐾🫡
