Curious about my water setup? #prepping

I've just been diving down the Chlorine Dioxide Solution rabbit hole.

It's quite the rabbit hole, I'm just ordering some Sodium Chlorite & Hydro Chloric Acid. It seems good for sanitising water & treating a range of bacteria, viral & fungal infections (topically & internally).

I have a small 1500L poly tank of rain water seperated from my main water tank. I bought & filled this before my main tank got contaminated with town water. I'll be treating this water with the CDS.

Water security is pretty important.

It's easy to take for granted, it just flows from the tap for most people.

Until it doesn't or it becomes (more) contaminated.

My biggest eureka moment was learning that I could combine a ROAMfilter Plus 2 to collect large amounts of water quickly and quietly in the wild (filtering it as a first pass), and then lug it home to pass through a Berkey fot a second pass.

That same setup can be used with my potable water to remove the chlorine dioxide before remineralizing.

These also pack easy and can go with you with some jerry cans in a bug out situation.

When you combine it with a Berkey, you get a fairly comprehensive water purification system that requires zero electricity and is portable.

Filters out living things (bacteria, virus, protozoa) and inerts (chemicals, vacs, pharma) to 99.9% when combined.

For really gnarly water I'd probably boil before consuming, depending on how much time I had.

It's good to have the tools and know how.

The interesting thing about the chlorine dioxide is that it doesn't sterilise the water in the same way as hypochlorite. Chlorine dioxide (a dissolved gas), breaks down into salts, oxygen & hydrogen gas. It's the oxygen that oxidizes the pathogens, not the chlorine gas.

Do you remember when people were drinking bleach to treat COVID? Chlorine dioxide was also known as Miracle Mineral Supplement & was used in many poor countries to treat COVID. MSM have been demonising it, calling it bleach for a long time. It is used as a bleach & sanitiser in industry but at much higher concentrations.
