Best newbie iOS wallet set up for both bitcoin and lighting. Or some reliable sources for reviews?

Zeus wallet is a good entry option.

you'd need to learn about liquidity though, and its notbthe cheapest, however it is lightning focused and has on chain backup. i am not familiar with ios products, but i know zeus is on both.

I think Mutiny is the only choice if you want something comparable to Venmo or Cash App

I've tried them all. Phoenix wallet would be my recommendation. Unfortunately we live in a post-wallet of Satoshi era in the US, and while Phoenix is superior to WoS in many ways, it's definitely not as newbie friendly. But overall I think it's the best option.

It’s also not an on chain wallet

You can send on chain into and out of your Phoenix wallet. You just need to pay on chain fees.

It's like the inverse of Muun... On chain or lightning, but Phoenix defaults to lightning while Muun defaults to on chain.

I just sent on chain to phoenix and wanted to send it out before opening a channel. I cannot because when you send onchain it actually sends to a swap address that's controlled by phoenix. So I'd have to open a channel before getting custody of my funds.

Thanks !

Thanks for the insights

Aqua is nice. It strikes a nice balance vetween self-custody and infrastructure-as-a-product
