i highly recommend short follow lists... i think mine is under 50 and has been that way for about a month now and it's much better

i think there is some famous named number, dunbar's number or something? i think that at minimum you should consider that to be a maximum number of follows
you can't, neurologically, really cope with more people in your life than around 130, it's too much and any larger number turns into this abstraction where you muddle up the less frequently seen ones together, or the less interesting but similar ones kinda meld into this pseudo-collective-person in your memory
i think any human can relate to what i mean about this, we just are not made to live in cities, we are villagers and our society only can be stable when you can scale that without the crowd merging into a blob of NPCs
I understand where you are coming from but I think a lot of people might disagree with you. If I followed 38 people who I constantly engaged with that might be enough, but I like seeing new and diverse content when I log into nostr. If you don’t follow enough people it feels like a ghost town here.
indeed, but i'm only in this mode now after having some 200 follows and not being able to catch up on 1/5th of them or less, so i preferred to specialise 😀
