On this day we remember Hieromartyr Irineu, Bishop of Sirmium, who boldly confessed Christ during Emperor Maximian's reign. Arrested and tortured, he refused to offer pagan sacrifices. Even after witnessing the brutal execution of other Christians, Irineu remained steadfast. When urged by his family to deny his faith, he proclaimed, "Christ is my life, and I will not deny Him!"
