#americanpioneers #4 - Rocky Mountain Rendezvous

The below is a painting by Alfred Jacob Miller of a typical Rocky Mountain Rendezvous - an annual meeting of fur trappers, traders and companies held between 1825 and 1840.

In the words of famous mountain man James Beckwourth: "Mirth, songs, dancing, shouting, trading, running, jumping, singing, racing, target-shooting, yarns, frolic, with all sorts of extravagances that white men or Indians could invent."
