Organized Mesh Networks:

I know this isn’t a complete list of organized mesh groups. If you know of others post them as a reply here, also contact Austin Mesh to let them know too.

If you don’t have one in your area yet, consider starting one.

Lfg I'll post ours

I've been considering starting one for a while now. These are really helpful tips for getting started.

Do you have a suggestion for a CHEAP, battery powered node that one would take with their mobile device and pair with via bluetooth in order to chat? Doesn't have to be pretty, or easy to use, or even open source (though that last one is highly desirable).

What is the best way to get a city/town bootstrapped in this way? I have Meshtastic devices already so I’m familiar with the tech but the social aspect is a challenge.

Suggestions: How to jump start a local mesh / meshes

⚡️ Local ham clubs would have folks interested

⚡️ Bitcoin meetups are good spots

⚡️ Neighbors are a great place to start

⚡️ Local off road and out door activity groups that would need off grid comms

⚡️ Local hacker or maker spaces

⚡️ Church / religous community

⚡️ Local family

⚡️ There may be groups in your area that already exist but are only using legacy social media

📟 Buy a few extra Helltec v3 on AliExpress and sell them at cost to people that you would want in your network. 📟

Thank you! Great ideas here
