And don't lump me into any sort of established camp, because I admit that SegWit+Taproot expanded Bitcoin's attack surface. Nobody saw inscriptions coming, and big blockers and bcashers and all those other reprobates have no right to be doing a victory lap. But the first step to recovery is admitting there is a problem.

Good point. I don't know enough about SegWit & TapRoot to judge this, but yeah more code is more attack surface.
