The average suburban dad is making hard choices every day (committing to taking care of 2-5 other people) with no end in sight. Watching dudes in tights who have worked like crazy to build up and then sacrifice their bodies on that grass in pursuit of a difficult to reach goal gives them hope that their own efforts to build civilization is not in vain.

not sure you have the right frame of mind to make that judgement for suburban dads. you've already said you'll never understand.

I would think they’d want to spend the “effort to build civilization” instead as you said. 🤷‍♀️ Not sure how that can be accomplished giving up days of your life every week to the couch.

The average suburban dad doesn't spend days on the couch. He spends 40-50 hours a week working to provide for the full and safe future of his children. That's literally civilization building. Give him a break and let him spend a few hours a week (not days each week) sitting on the couch cheering for the success of another dude and feeling like he's a part of something.

K. You do you 🤙

This is exactly what I'm talking about with mindset. I'm not "doing me." I'm challenging your assumptions, which are frontloaded with judgement valuations that are misaligned with the male experience and frameworks.

lol my post said “people” not suburban male. You took it there.

I did because suburban males make up a significant portion of the "people" you took potshot at. Seek first to understand, which unfortunately you said you weren't capable of doing.

Well, anyway, I'm outside cutting some big ass growth away from my well so that my family has water to drink. Then I may catch a game. 😀
