Part 5 of my #AmericanRevolution #vexillology series: Green Mountain Boys

Thought to have been adopted circa 1776, this flag was used as the regimental flag of the revolutionary malita The Green Mountain Boys who fought in battles in what is now Vermont, New Hampshire, and upstate New York.

Today, the flag is used as the official regimental flag of the Vermont National Guard unit as well as being used as the the flag of the Vermont secessionist movement for the Second Vermont Republic.
