over the entire time I’ve been into Bitcoin, I’ve never had a concern about it. Ive believed it resilient enough to weather what was going to come. And it has been.

but I have a concern now. I wasn’t worried about it when it was a threat. but now that it is incredibly valuable, and will become more so, i see a vulnerability that will be attacked at new levels. it’s not the technology but the people. the core developers. the bulls eye that will be on them, their lives, and even their families, is no joke. when you start affecting nation states, intelligence agencies, and international banks, the threat/security model escalates dramatically. I hope they have good people around them.

As Saifedean was saying about how the fed views presidents, they come and go

The same with Bitcoin, the core devs will at some point retire and new people enter, they in turn will pass on the task to the next generation.

If a core dev is compromised, any changes to the network will be scrutinised by the global node community and a decentralized decision made

there are no good people

Pretty sure this wargamed by various agencies/central banks in 2012/2013. Despite heavy attacks internally, externally, and tangentially, bitcoin continues to evolve & thrive
