Just throwing it out there because it's one of the crazier ecash ideas: A crypto exchange but the trades happen peer to peer via ecash.

- Alice: deposit BTC to exchange, get BTC ecash

- Bob: same but USD, ETH, whatever shitcoin

- They trade BTC/USD ecash off-band (through nostr obviously), atomic

- Bob withdraws BTC, Alice USD

Why do the exchange shall host the mint? Is it because of the unique ecash types/trading pairs?

I’d love to see exchange mints that offer short term hashrate contracts, swaps between layers, no kyc buys and sells, with a jam integration. Like if robosats and infinity hash had a baby raised by joinmarket in a dusty ecash apartment.

Build it on nostr:npub1dllf8wmj6jk83r7chck6madmfgh3fges65ctpe5t6ueujazvvcvsh20tz5 ! Bisq 2 allows user-defined payment methods. You could do a trade today! sats for nuts.

Also Bisq2 modular design allows for multiple trade protocols. You could add one for cashu.

#Lightning is becoming worthless. Are you guys visualizing on-chain settlement ?

Indeed for a limited trade size and time it's perfectly acceptable to use a custodial solution.

We only need to have fiat mints which support payments conditioned on HTLC/PTLC or support some sensible proofs of payment.
