I didn’t even know the Soviets had landed crafts on Venus, took photos, recorded sounds, etc, until a few years ago

I don’t see how you come to that conclusion. There’s no reason that 50 years ago, they didn’t send a craft through what we are told is a high temperature atmosphere with sulphuric acid, land and take a nice pretty picture. It just totally makes sense
