Dimi will probably best answer I have a lot to learn. But for me it’s about being able to take a copy of your vm and loading onto another machine. I used to use umbrel and migration is a nightmare and comes with great risk from what I understand. Once I get this sorted my aim is to get a raid system setup so having a vm will make this easy. I’m just taking it one step at a time.

Ya, your virtual machine is just a config file referencing other files, so it makes things pretty simple to manipulate.
Most plebeian builds won’t have raid, but disk failure tolerance is a huge requirement for reliable data storage over time. Massive benefit. But, backups work too, so it can be worked around.
