"Bookshop Santa Cruz" is probably the only bookstore I've seen during my time in the valley that actually carries good tech books. They had everything from AI, data science, block chain and just new programming languages. Highly recommend them!

When I was younger I'd frequent Barnes and Nobles for tech books and pick up a book once a week or so just to learn new topics even at a cursory level.
