The aluminum should be fine as long as you’re not towing and it should be able to do anything the competition does outside that. Honestly though, Tesla should probably reduce the tow rating. As has been demonstrated as possible, someone’s going to have a heavy trailer rip the back of the frame off and cause a serious accident. As the trucks age and get stress fractures it will be more likely to happen. Then Tesla will be forced to reduce the toe rating on top of paying massive fines. Just lower it to 2000lb now.

Exactly. Most people don’t appreciate how powerful and durable a real truck actually is. Yeah, a Tesla motor can make towing 14,000 lbs seem effortless, for like 80 miles, but the frame just ain’t gonna cut that mustard.
