How do we deal with the “just stop oil” protestors?

While I’m with you emotionally, I’m very interested to know how we can deal with these people as a society.
I’m not sure killing them and moving on without any repercussions is possible 😅
Same with the immigrant issue.
Can’t bake a cake without cracking a few skulls.
I mean eggs. 🥚
To what extent is violence the answer? How much violence do you need to impose to make a point?
Very little is needed.
Once the criminals know they can’t block roads or destroy priceless artifacts they’ll stop completely.
We’re dealing with lunatics and cowards here.
A few examples are all that’s needed.
As with children, I think it’s important to show that we’re not going to tolerate this behaviour. I see too many people simply accepting, or at least showing mild annoyance (even if they’re absolutely furious).
It doesn’t help though. I feel like arresting them doesn’t quite help either. I think society needs to show them how they feel about them. It should be made personal.
Let them keep cementing body parts to objects until they have all their extremities amputated.
Perhaps it’s a good idea to let them experience the consequences of their actions. How do we shield ourselves from their actions though?
I.e. someone has glued themselves to the road, but someone else needs to drive somewhere. Do we just remove the block their hand is glued to? Leaving the piece of the road glued to their hand?
Yes they should suffer the consequences, but if medical treatment is required then it should be applied. They are still human after all. They can get the medical bill and the road repair bill to pay.
