Have you ever watched a movie or tv show and thought, "if they told the truth, the whole show would be over in 2 minutes, and the writers would need to be really creative if they wanna make something longer!" 🤣

It's just bad writing if the characters act out of character in order to ignore the bleedin' obvious.
However if the characters are in character and we're simply ahead of them, that can be fine, once you accept it for what it is.

I'm fine with cheesy shows, but sometimes I wish for smarter writing. What would happen if the love story started with someone being honest about their feelings and ask someone out directly? Or someone who feels ashamed over getting sick, pushed last that fear and told their lived ones?
I do see it sometimes and I'm always happily surprised.
